The Project

The client was an architect who wanted to compliment the house design with a modern, reliable and futuristic electrical installation. With a young family, the client needed a control system that was flexible, easy to use and energy efficient all in one, KNX provided this. Touch screen keypads and remote controls all formed part of the control system and gave the client exactly what he needed.

How does this Project demonstrate the diversity/flexibility of KNX?

KNX was used as the backbone for the control system, as they knew this would provide the flexibility and reliability to integrate multiple technologies and products into one easily manageable system.

The control system encompassed internal and external lighting control, audio with multi zoned amplifiers and in-ceiling speakers, provisions for KNX  automated blinds, a robust and reliable network and Wi-Fi system using WAP and room specific heating control using IP stats.

The KNX core was integrated with home controls  to provide the flexibility to integrate all the technologies specified by the client into one simple to use interface.

How does KNX add value and ease of use for building owners/occupiers

KNX provided a solution to both the design requirements and functionality requirements of the project. Using minimalist KNX switches and control at your fingertips, we were able to capture both the vision of the project and include the functional elements required.

How has this project resolved an identified need for the building user and/or developer ?

Thanks to AME the client has so much more control over their home with remote access, they can monitor everything from anywhere in the world. With the use of schedules and using home mode and away mode, the client’s home can operate completely on its own.
