How does this Project demonstrate the diversity of KNX?
The client wanted to take full control of their Mayfair apartment. Taking control of, lighting, heating, cooling, fresh air, blinds, plant room, alarms and AV KNX was the only option to capture all elements in one easy to operate elegant system. Using KNX allowed Mosaic to selected a range of manufactures and products to best suit each application and bring together in to one system.
How does this Project demonstrate a synergistic approach to building use?
There are no dedicated controllers in the property, every keypad, touchscreen, PIR and app controls more than one element. A Keypad in a room is not only giving the user direct control over lighting and blinds. It also brings the room temperature into the system to control the HVAC. Mosaic looked at the project holistically making sure that all elements were brought on to the system and worked together. Welcome, depart and holiday modes interact with all the systems in the apartment, making sure energy wasted on heating/cooling, lighting, AV while the apartment is un-used. And the plant is economical as possible if the apartment is empty for long periods of time.

Why use KNX for this project?
This project highlights the flexible nature of KNX. That it can be a complete and intelligent system to control multiple disciplines with automatic fault shut downs, alarm emails and logically start up/shut down procedures. While the client experiences an easy to use seamless living environment with elegant high end finishes in the day to day use of the system. Bringing in everything that could be controlled into the KNX system makes this a standout project that will last the test of time.
