Last month, KNX UK members swapped smart buildings for stand-up comedy as they gathered in Edinburgh for a very special night out at the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
For many members in Scotland and the North of England, this was a fantastic chance to connect, network, and enjoy some fun – without the long trip down to London.
It was great to see new faces alongside long-standing members, all coming together in a relaxed and informal setting.
A big thank you goes to Paul and Kit from My KNX Store for taking the lead in organising and hosting the evening. Their efforts helped create a lively, welcoming atmosphere where members could share ideas, strengthen relationships, and enjoy being part of the KNX UK community.
Laughter, conversation, and konnexion flowed throughout the night – proving that sometimes the best way to strengthen professional ties is through a relaxed shared experience away from the stresses of ongoing projects.
Why Regional Events Matter
KNX UK is committed to making networking and knowledge-sharing as accessible as possible for all members, designers and developers keen to make connections within the KNX community. While many of our key events take place in London, regional meet-ups like this one ensure that members across the country have the chance to get involved.
These smaller, informal gatherings are a brilliant way to:
- Build closer connections with fellow professionals in your area
- Share experiences and insights in a relaxed environment
- Spark new collaborations and partnerships
- Simply enjoy being part of a supportive, innovative community
Nick Laing, Function Control and KNX UK Board member said: “The Edinburgh Festival gathering was a great way to bring together our industry movers in the top half of the country and celebrate our hard work with some relaxation and entertainment. We recognise that the north of the UK KNX community is small and tight-knit so it was fun to see fellow integrators and manufacturers sharing stories and having a good time in an informal setting.”
Looking Ahead
This event at the Fringe is just the beginning. KNX UK will continue to explore opportunities for regional meet-ups, social events, and informal networking sessions.
