KNX UK Partner LCE Home Automation was called in to help with a 12-year-old KNX installation after a lighting actuator had failed. The homeowner had lost the KNX programme that he had been given, and the original installer had retired,  so there was no way to track it down.

So LCE simply created a ‘mini programme’ and substituted with a new ABB actuator, and the system was up and running quickly. Of course, the isolated failure had not affected other parts of the building in the meantime, as it is a KNX installation.

LCE Home Automation director Jamie Doe commented:  “Even in the worst-case scenario of a completely lost programme, KNX still comes up trumps.”
