KNX Association National Group Conference – every year KNX Association invites the Chair and Secretary of each National Group to attend the National Group Conference. 2024 saw a gathering in Dublin of 19 National Groups collaborating on the future of KNX globally and enabling stronger connections with other National Groups.

There was a three year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, since then these conferences have resulted in many changes at KNX Association, listening to and embracing the needs of the different National Groups. We now have access to KNX Association marketing resources to share in the UK and there is a more open sharing of materials and ideas between groups.

Smart Buildings Show, ExCel London – this entailed the collaboration of several manufacturer/distributor members.  This pooling of resources enabled members to attend at a vastly lower cost than taking a stand individually and the physical demonstration of KNX interoperability and collaboration was very clear for all to see. Leads were able to be recorded individually by each participating company and all agreed to share leads as part of the KNX UK collaboration. We were able to add a further 148 leads to our database, which included initial follow up and ongoing communications.

We are very grateful to our participating partners at the show and we hope to repeat this format again at the show this October. If you would like to find out more about how to collaborate on this project, email us here.

ABEE Mission to Europe – (Association of Building Engineering and Equipment)

This was a Japanese delegation that KNX UK hosted at the request of the global KNX Association and the KNX Japan National Group.  It was a great honour and a testament to our reputation in the global community.  A great deal of work went into making the trip a success which included a tour of 150 Holborn, courtesy of Schneider Electric UK and the Smart Building Show organisers both of whom were hugely supportive in making this event a great success.

Sustainability Month – This was a global event held by KNX Association, which encompassed a month long focus on sustainability – we were able to share content from other National Groups – view summary here.

Webinar – Are Energy Systems sustainable. As a part of the Sustainability month KNX UK broadcast a webinar, which is available on video here – this added a further 23 leads to our database and provided a resource to be shared by all.

Christmas Drinks Event – one of the items discussed at the 2024 AGM was to reinstate the Christmas Drinks event that had been missed in 2023.  This was held at Paddington Station – a great venue, low cost and packed with many members who had travelled a distance to be there, including members and friends from as far away as Gateshead and Edinburgh.

We’d like to thank everyone who turned out for this event, which was a purely social evening at the end of a busy year for all.
